Weston Underwood

'We dwell in a neat and comfortable abode, in one of the prettiest villages in the kingdom', wrote William Cowper, the poet, in 1786 having moved to the Lodge at Weston Underwood from Olney.

Wotton Underwood

Wotton-under-Wood Parish (Pop. 312) Two Day and Sunday National Schools, containing 50 males and the same number of females; the master's salary of 20 guineas per annum, and the mistress's of £19., with books and all requisites for the Schools, together with clothing for 40 of the children
