ASHENDON HUNDRED   From Sheahan in 1861: The three ancient hundreds, in Domesday Book denominated Essedene, Votesdon and Tichesele, were united in the present hundred of Ashendon popularly so called, but technically, The Three hundreds of Ashendon.

Upper Winchendon Parish (Pop. 223) Two Sunday Schools, in one of which are 23 children of both sexes, who attend the Established Church; the other consists of 24 children appertaining to the Baptist denomination. Both Schools supported by voluntary contributions, and commenced in 1830. ABSTRAC
