We are very pleased to have publications from the John Hampden Society in our on-line shop. This is part of a service that we offer to local history societies to promote and sell their publications. The John Hampden Society is unusual in that it's interest is in a person rather than a local town or village.
The John Hampden Society was formed in 1992 to honour the man who has been know to history as 'The Patriot'. The Society, which is a registered charity, honours Hampden's stand against the arbitrary policies of King Charles I, his work in the Short and Long Parliaments, and his sacrifice at the Battle of Chalgrove Field in 1643.
We have 6 publications about the live and times of John Hampden in the "Local History Publications" section of the shop.
