“Irish Annie” Again
Annie Wilson, better known as “Irish Annie” as charges with being drunk and disorderly at Datchet on October 24th.
Defendant pleaded not guilty.
Police-constable Briginshaw said that about 8 15 on Sunday evening he saw prisoner in Datchet drunk. He advised her to go away He got her down the road a little way, when she laid in the path and used most fearful language just as the people were coming out of church. As she would not walk he had to engage a cab to bring her to Slough. There had been numerous complaints made to him of her conduct of late.
Defendant said she was very sorry, and afterwards stated that she had only been in one public house that evening.
Fined 10s or 11 days.
Prisoner, as she left the dock, remarked “I’ll give more trouble next time.”
The Chairman then ordered her to be bought back, and increased the fine to 10s 6d for her impudence.
